How To Generate More Website Traffic One Day At A Time!
If you are struggling to generate some traffic online, maybe you should re-evaluate where your time should be spent and setup a schedule to be more consistent.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that new software program that comes out every single month that promises to solve all of your traffic problems isn’t going to work. It never has and probably never will.
Traffic is about consistency. If you set up a specific schedule and remain consistent with your traffic generation strategy, then you will start seeing some traffic.
It won’t be big at first. You are not going to get 10,000 unique visitors tomorrow, and probably not even next week. But if you do a little everyday (it doesn’t have to take hours) then you will start to build traffic, and grow it.
Pretty soon, you will be generating big traffic.
I think the main problem with generating traffic isn’t that you don’t know how, it is actually doing the work required to generate that traffic.
Think about it, you already know plenty of ways to generate traffic, there’s:
-Paying for clicks at Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
-Writing and submitting articles to all of the article directories like EzineArticles.com.
-Running an affiliate program or getting joint venture partners to promote for you.
-Getting listed in the major search engines.
-Viral marketing campaigns.
-Going to places like Big-Boards.com and join in on discussions, use your sig file to promote your site.
-Social media avenues like Twitter.com and Facebook.com
-Video marketing and submissions to places like Youtube.com or Viddler.com.
-All of the different sorts of banner advertising.
Getting traffic isn’t the hard part, it is the constant work involved. So what you really need is a strategy to follow so that you are always driving traffic to your site, with as little work as possible..
Almost everything about making money online is a one time job, except for generating traffic. You have to do that constantly to make money. The autopilot traffic concept rarely works as well as the people selling it will have you believe.
Generating traffic involves working everyday, even if it’s just a little bit, to build big traffic.
It is a good idea to set specific days to do certain tasks that will build traffic.
For instance:
-On Mondays and Thursdays, check all PPC advertising and tweak the campaigns to make them profitable.
-Hunt for joint venture partners every Wednesday for all of your sites.
-Go to the discussion forums that are in your market at the end of everyday (after everything else for that day is completed) and make relevant post about the topic and leave your link to your blog in your sig file (don’t spend too much time at the forums, just get in and get out).
Pick a day each week to brainstorm new ideas to generate traffic (I don’t work on Fridays or the weekend, so my brainstorm day is Thursday so that the ideas are in my head all weekend. I find this helps to come up with new ideas while I’m out and about enjoying life.)
Whenever you find something that works well, outsource it. If you have found that it works, and are done with all of your testing or experimenting with that concept, then you can outsource it and move on to finding other traffic generation methods that work well for your business.
So write down the days that you have available to work on your Internet business and how much time you have each day.
Then schedule in traffic generation methods that you will do each day to build big traffic to your web site.
Then, all you have to do is follow your schedule!
It doesn’t have to be some complex brain map that’ll confuse the hell out of you. Just write down what days you will work on the different types of traffic generation methods that you want to employ.
