Wes has always seemed a bit reclusive - but for 7 or 8 years now I've been paying attention to what he does say and reveal. This blog is a good thing. Keep watching.

Thanks for providing this great info on generating traffic. Like others have commented, I agree that getting traffic requires consistent work. I have several products that I promote which makes for a complex marketing strategy. I used to send traffic to a different site each day, but I have realized greater success from only sending traffic to one site - the one at the top of my sales funnel.

I agree, the process of generating traffic has to be consistent and it's easy to lose focus if you don't structure your day or week. You could add blog commenting to the list. It can get you traffic but it pays to be amongst the first 3 to post a comment so it's essential to pick your blogs and subscribe to the posts.

Wes I noticed that this weeks comment was about getting traffic through doing something every day. That is what I do. I do more than one web site however. I have lots but I work on my main money sites most usually. I suppose when I first started it took me an hour and a half to do it. Now I can get it done in 12 minutes. I got a lot of tools to speed things up, including a key word program and an article writer. In the end I think it is worth doing because my pages are steadily moving up the charts (a lot). - Bob

Hi Wes & everybody! The hardest thing is sitting down and sending email or submissions to different blogs, ad blasters, groups that you have joined, double opt-ins and etc. This takes a lot of time and sometimes you spend some money on what you think is the bargain of the day or night. To add people to your list is not easy, I don't care how many list builder programs you have. But you have to keep trying every day or night. Good Luck! Carlos G Grant www.goformoretraffic.com By the way! Thanks!

I like your post. I have several web sites so I have to get traffic for all of them amongst other things like updating, etc. so I recently started a folder for each with to do lists for each of them, including the traffice getting, link building section, so I never go too long without getting some kind of link. It really does help writing stuff down. I can remember a lot, but with so much going on in my biz and my life, I do forget some stuff, especially some cool ideas I have when I'm not working. That's when it seems like I'm relaxed enough for the juices to start flowing. It's seems like a tedious thing to do, writing it all down, but after you've tried it for a while you will feel more organized and not like you are forgetting something. :)

Hi Wes

Great post and you are right it is difficult to make the time to spend on traffic and that is what makes our business work.

It is a brilliant idea to set aside days to do different tasks. I find that sometimes, especially when you are first learning Internet Marketing you can get bogged down doing things that you are not quite sure of and spend ages going round in circles. This makes a mess of any shedule.

This post is certainly good food for thought.

Regards
Katherine

I think we're all guilty of not generating traffic consistently. It's the "work" part of the business. I'd rather create a couple of products than work on traffic. But I agree - it's the traffic that makes everything else work. Without traffic there is no list and no sales.

So keep reminding us, Wes!
